“As is made painfully evident by the devastating wildfires in Australia, the impacts of climate change are no longer theoretical. Climate change is an out-of-control, global crisis that requires everyone, but especially artists, to sound the alarm bells. That is why our funding showcase at Electric Dreams will focus on XR projects tackling climate change, the environment and sustainability
Selected artists will be invited to the Electric Dreams Festival of Immersive Storytelling in Adelaide, Australia, where they’ll present in-development projects that focus on the environment, climate change and sustainability. The showcase will also be streamed online to Kaleidoscope’s international network of funders, buyers, festivals and distributors, including NGOs, non-profits and impact organizations, with the goal of helping these project secure funding and distribution.
The pitch will take place in Adelaide on the 21st February 2020. Successful applicants will receive:
- Full pass to the the Electric Dreams Adelaide conference (19-21 February)
- Four nights accommodation in Adelaide for the duration of the conference
- Up to $1500AUD contribution towards travel expenses.
We are looking for projects that are artistically innovative, use the XR medium in novel ways, and are commercially viable. Projects must be in-development, and must not be completed prior to the showcase.”
